TCM Fertility Support in Singapore: What a First Visit Involves
At RP Clinic in Orchard Road, Singapore, TCM fertility support begins with an $88 nett first visit: a consultation with a registered TCM physician, followed by your first treatment, with GST included. The $88 first visit applies to online bookings only. The work is support for the trying-to-conceive months and alongside IVF or IUI, planned around your fertility specialist's timeline and never in place of it.
Some patients come while trying naturally, others between or during IVF cycles. In both cases the work is the same in kind: regulating the cycle, supporting rest and circulation, and pacing everything around the calendar your specialist has set. Herbal medicine is used only where your specialist has no objection, and is quoted separately after the consultation.
What happens at the first visit?
The physician takes a detailed history, followed by an examination. For fertility support, the questions cover your cycle, sleep, digestion, energy and stress, and where you are in any treatment with your specialist, since TCM reads these together as a pattern. The physician then explains what the pattern suggests and what would address it, and recommends one treatment for the visit: acupuncture, tuina, cupping, gua sha or a part trial of Acufacial. For fertility support, acupuncture is the usual recommendation.
You will hear the recommended plan and its full cost after the consultation, before anything further is done, and you decide at your own pace. Consultations are conducted in English or Mandarin.
Who is this for?
- Preparing to conceive. The months before you start trying, or early in it.
- Alongside IVF and IUI. Sessions timed around your protocol's calendar.
- Cycle regularity. A rhythm that makes timing legible.
- The waiting weeks. The stretches where there is nothing to do but wait.
- Both partners. Support is not only for one side.
What does the treatment involve?
Acupuncture is the core of the plan, performed by a registered TCM physician with single-use SEIRIN® needles made in Japan, 0.10 mm in diameter. Points are chosen for your pattern and for where you are in your cycle. Herbal support is added only where your specialist has no objection, and is paused wherever your specialist prefers. What the plan aims at is a more regular cycle, better rest and circulation, and support through a process that is physically and emotionally demanding.
How is it timed around IVF or IUI?
Timing follows your specialist's protocol and calendar. Before a cycle starts, the calendar is yours and sessions are easier to plan; once a protocol begins, we fit around it. The plan is reviewed each cycle and adjusted to where you are in the process, rather than run on a fixed schedule.
Will the physician coordinate with my fertility specialist?
We plan around their timeline and their preferences, including pausing herbal medicine entirely if they prefer. Investigations, diagnosis and the protocol itself belong with your fertility clinic; our role is support alongside. Tell both sides what the other is doing.
What does the $88 first visit include, and what about herbal medicine?
The $88 covers the consultation with a registered TCM physician and one treatment, with GST included, for visits booked online. Herbal medicine is not part of the $88. If the physician recommends a prescription, and your specialist has no objection, the cost is quoted separately after the consultation. The cost of further sessions is also set out at that point, before anything is agreed.
When should I start?
Earlier is easier to plan around. But there is no wrong time to ask, and the physician will tell you what is realistic from wherever you are in the process.

FAQ
Does acupuncture improve IVF success rates?
The research is mixed, and we do not quote success-rate figures. What we aim at is narrower: a more regular cycle, better rest, and support through a process that is physically and emotionally demanding. Those are worth having on their own terms.
Can I take herbal medicine during an IVF cycle?
Only where your fertility specialist has no objection. We pause herbal medicine wherever your specialist prefers, and acupuncture continues on its own. Bring your protocol and any medication list to the first visit.
Is fertility support only for women?
No. Support is for both partners, and either or both can come for a consultation.
How often will I need to come?
It depends on where you are in the process. Sessions are timed around your specialist's calendar and the plan is reviewed each cycle, so the frequency is arranged at your consultation rather than fixed in advance.
